Mainland Companies. A Developer Defined by Design, With a Website to Match

Mainland Companies is a Nashville real estate developer whose work spans 35 million square feet and $3 billion in created value over 15 years, guided by a simple creed: design defines us, sustainability guides us, community inspires us. Sitework Digital designed and built mainlandcompanies.com, a site that treats that creed as the brief.

About this work

The projects below were produced by our team through JBowman Creative, the studio we came up in. Sitework Digital is the practice built around that work. Same people, now focused entirely on builders and developers. Shown with client permission.

The challenge

What the site had to do.

A developer that leads with design cannot hide behind a template. Mainland's projects, its four divisions (Signature, Urban, Retail, and Development Services), and its investor relationships all needed a home that felt as considered as the buildings. At the same time, the site had to work for two very different visitors: a Nashville partner evaluating a local project, and a national programmatic client who needs to understand Mainland's process and expertise from a distance.

The investor audience added a third requirement: a dedicated portal, reachable from the main navigation, without cluttering the public story.

What we built

A narrative site that opens on Mainland's own language and imagery, then moves the visitor through Approach (About Us, Process, Expertise), the Team, the Specialties, and the Investors portal, in that order.

  • An Approach section with About Us, Process, and Expertise pages that explain how Mainland works, not just what it has built
  • Specialties pages for Mainland Signature, Mainland Urban, Mainland Retail, and Development Services
  • A Team page and an Investors portal, both one click from the main navigation
  • Large format photography that carries the design first positioning
  • Phone, email, and LinkedIn contact throughout
Built for search

Findable by the people it was built for.

Mainland's homepage carries a complete title and meta description (Mainland Companies | Real Estate Developer | Nashville), which is the first thing a search engine reads and the first thing a prospect sees in a results list. Every division and approach page sits at its own indexable URL with canonical tags and structured data in place.

The result

Live, and doing its job.

  • Live at mainlandcompanies.com
  • Full title tag and meta description live on the homepage
Questions

Frequently asked.

What did Sitework Digital build for Mainland Companies?

A design led developer website with Approach, Team, Specialties, and Investors sections, built to carry Mainland's brand for both Nashville and national audiences.

How does a real estate developer's website serve investors?

By giving them a clear path: the story and process on the public pages, then a dedicated investor portal one click from the navigation.

What makes a developer website feel premium?

Photography with room to breathe, restrained navigation, and copy in the company's own voice. Mainland's site is a working example.
